Ayurvedic Facial Rejuvenation

Quick Info:

In Ayurveda, the face and head has more energy centres than anywhere else in the body, (37 out of 108) they are known as the marma points and  each point relates to specific organ and function of the body. This feel good massage of the face and Marma points is continuous for the entire session, it is detoxifying and nourishing, bringing a glow to the face and at the same time focusing on the health at all levels.
Among many benefits it reduces puffiness and fluid retention around the eyes, relieving eye strain, tension headaches, jaw aches and an improvement in muscle tone thus reducing sagginess. Given all the above benefits, this is the Queen of anti-aging therapy!

Ayurveda is the ancient holistic system from India, practiced for over 5000 years, it is acknowledged as the mother of medicine which includes yoga in its modality. It is a complete lifestyle based on achieving physical, mental and spiritual harmony. Ayurveda describes that life is divided into three divisions and composed of five basic elements: space, air, fire, water and earth, all depending on which body elements (dosha) dominates which section of life.

  • Kappa dosha dominates childhood
  • Pitta dosha dominates adulthood.
  • Vata dosha dominates old age.
In order to prolong life and keep old age at bay, we need to pacify Vata dosha. Some of the herbs that pacify Vata are ginger, Neem, Triphala, Turmeric and Manjisha.

The Marma points are connected with each other by energy channels called Nadis.  Energy needs to flow uninterrupted through the Nadis while passing through the Marma points. Due to external influences such as stress, tension, lifestyle etc energy tends to get blocked in the Marma points. Blockage of these points will result in early ageing.
